Anna
My name is Anna, and I've been a licensed guide in Warsaw since 2014. After studying cultural studies and languages at the University of Warsaw, becoming a guide was a natural way to combine my interest in history with a love for teaching. I've been guiding with Walkative since 2015, driven by the belief that travel broadens our horizons and helps us understand different cultures. My goal is for you to learn about my city's past and present, but also to have a good time, so I try to lead my tours in an engaging and sometimes humorous way.
What I enjoy most is challenging the stereotype of Warsaw as a grey, post-war city. My grandfather helped rebuild it, and I feel a deep connection to its story of resilience—a place where pre-war tenements stand alongside modern skyscrapers and green parks. I specialize in the history of the Second World War and Jewish Warsaw, and I consider it my responsibility to be a guardian of memory for those whose stories need to be told. When not guiding, I'm often travelling myself, or escaping the city to go scuba diving with my husband, which satisfies my unfulfilled dream of being an oceanographer.
